A moving tribute to the legendary composer and songwriter Cole Porter, featuring beloved, timeless jazz classics, led by one of the UK’s foremost swing and big band vocalists, Louise Cookman, and acclaimed British clarinetist and saxophonist Peter Long, who has performed and recorded with Tom Jones, Norah Jones, and John Scofield, and regularly conducts the Ronnie Scott’s Orchestra.

Louise Cookman is one of Britain’s leading swing and big band singers, a vocalist with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra for over five years, and a regular guest with the BBC Big Band. She has appeared on the most prestigious stages, including Ronnie Scott’s, Royal Festival Hall, and Cadogan Hall, and has collaborated with renowned artists such as Ken Peplowski and the UK’s top jazz orchestras. With a warm voice, elegant style, and captivating presence, Louise brings back to the stage the golden age of American and British swing of the 1920s–1940s.

Peter Long is a British clarinetist, saxophonist, arranger, and conductor with a rich international career. Over the years he has performed and recorded with top-tier artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea, John Scofield, Tom Jones, and Norah Jones, and was a member of Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. His sound can also be heard on the soundtrack of the TV series The Office. Today, he serves as the musical director of the Ronnie Scott’s Big Band in London, alongside extensive educational work and leadership of diverse musical ensembles.

The show “A Romance in Manhattan” takes the audience on a musical journey through the sounds and stories of New York, with a rich repertoire of beloved jazz classics.

They will be accompanied by a top-class local ensemble.
