A Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald with Roberta Gambarini & The Tamir Hendelman Quartet (USA)

Roberta Gambarini is one of the greatest jazz singers today – with a powerful voice, a captivating presence and an impressive international career. She broke into the jazz scene after being one of the finalists in the ‘Thelonious Monk’ competition. She holds three Grammy nominations, has performed from Hollywood to the Royal Albert Hall in London, and enjoyed collaborations with jazz legends such as Herbie Hancock, Dave Roebuck and Paquito D’Rivera.

Audiences and critics praise her voice, her sensitivity and the extraordinary musical virtuosity she brings to the stage.  She has won many awards including: the International Jazz Journalist Association’s Female Singer of the Year Award; and at the Down Beat Magazine Awards – the rising star and singer of the year.

It is not by chance that she has also been awarded the prestigious ‘Knight of Arts and Letters’ by the French Ministry of Culture. In her performances in Israel, she will provide a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald.

She will perform together with the talented Los Angeles–based jazz pianist and composer Tamir Hendelman, who has performed and recorded with a wide range of artists including Barbra Streisand, John Pizzarelli, the Jeff Hamilton Trio, and the Clayton–Hamilton Orchestra, alongside Assaf Hakimi on bass and Shay Zelman on drums.
