Dennis Lichtman
The Clarinet master Dennis Lichtman is a captivating multi-instrumentalist, who excites crowds with his music and singing. He plays the clarinet, saxophone, violin, banjo, guitar and more.
During his HotJazz shows, he will be playing the best of Benny Goodman and Sidney Bechet – both of which were influential musicians and composers who contributed to Jazz, each in his own unique style.
Lichtman’s virtuosity and mastery over so many styles and instruments are admirable. He shifts with ease from New Orleans, through Dixie and Blues, all the way to Benny Goodman style Swing. He has performed on the biggest stages, such as Carnegie Hall, and Jazz Festivals from Brazil to Beijing.
He is a sought after clarinet teacher, and regularly gives classes at the Lincoln Center, as well as the Welbourne Traditional Jazz Music Camp in Middleburg, among others.
