Sylvia Cuenca, Shay Zelman, Jeff Clayton, Tamir Hendelma, Dor Samocha

Sylvia Cuenca was born in New York and has Mexican roots. She has played for over seventeen years with acclaimed trumpeter Clark Terry, and with the king of “post-bop”, saxophonist Joe Henderson. As a child, she fell in love with the famous Max Roach and Clifford Brown album, and ever since, she has decided to dedicate her life to drumming. She has performed at the Lincoln Center and is a regular at the Washington D.C. Kennedy Center Jazz Festival, as well as a senior faculty member at the Stanford University Teenage Jazz Workshop in California.

Joining her will be Shay Zelman, one of the most acclaimed Israeli Jazz Musicians. He decided to become a drummer at the age of sixteen, when he became acquainted with the music of Max Roach. Since then, he has taught himself by listening to great jazz musicians. Shay has worked in New York and performed with big names in the New York jazz scene: John hicks, Kirk Lightsey and Larry Willis. He is also a highly sought-after music teacher at many schools and conservatoriums in Israel.

Accompanying them will be American saxophonist and flautist Jeff Clayton, who has played with such names such as Frank Sinatra, B.B. King, Ray Charles and more.
